Dunkirk, the film

Postby SYN_Bandy » Sat Jul 22, 2017 9:53 am

My son and I were defo the youngest people in the audience, LOL. I can recommend the film, it is a good piece of cinematography, but you will have to suspend your historic disbelief when it comes to the RAF sequences.

Minor Spoiler Alert!
Just FYI, it caught my attention in film, so looked up afterwards, and yes, apparently there is no 'reserve' fuel tank in the Spitfire. The top tank simply feeds into the lower tank all the time, you don't have to flip a switch... I'll also have to watch again and try to count the number of bursts and estimate the amount of time the Spit guns were used. Does aluminum burn like that?
Lest we forget...

Aluminum dose indeed burn. But "like that", not knowing what "that" is, (having not seen it), I don't know.

Well Alloy car wheels spark and flare and splutter and burn very well almost firework like if that helps.

Most annoying thing was he didn't lead the target at all when in a turn :)
