What I am finding is, if I am not the only one in the house I cannot concentrate enough to do anything, this is taking some serious trial and error to get to grips with.

So far testing a solid booster at 230k metres I keep burning up on re entry or with a heat shield the chutes burn up, I even managed to accidentally get in an orbit on this mission with no way of getting down

Getting frustrated now, trying to shallow my re entry but my unstable rocket won't allow a shallow ascent.

I am starting in career mode, I thought that would be the best way to learn and most fun.

Hehe!

Managed to do it by really extending the sub orbit, it was close without a heat shield though.

I managed to do it some upadates ago..I think before the proper heat physics were implemented.

I did something which I saw Scott Manley do. My rockets aren't that big

In the first phase I'll boost up maximum thrust untill I reach 400 Mph..then I throttle down..tho I make sure my speed keeps on increasing.
I'll try to go straight up untill I reach 10 k..then I'll go in to a 45 degrees angle and gradually go flatter towards the 100 K height orbit.
