So, I've just ordered a monitor: Dell s2716dg, 27" @ 2560x1440, 144hz, g-sync. Go ahead now, tell me I should not have gotten it.
Here's the prospective build to run it:
mobo GIGABYTE G1 Gaming GA-Z170X-Gaming 3 (rev. 1.0) LGA 1151 Intel Z170
cpu i5-6600k
RAM HyperX Savage 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4 3000
PSU CORSAIR RMi Series RM850i 850W 80 PLUS GOLD
SSD Intel 540s Series 2.5" 480GB
Plus a cooler master 212 cpu fan, a 1TB HDD, another Antec 900 case, a DVD burner, and, drumroll please... EVGA GeForce GTX 980 Ti. Total cost on newegg, $1640.
I am very tempted by the 1080 GPU. But, for one thing, they are all out of stock now. Plus, I think when they do get back into stock, it's like $2-300 more for one compared to the 980 Ti. Tough call though, the 1080 sounds like a big step up, and if the difference gets less than $200... hmm.
BTW this is mainly for BOS and ROF, and hopefully some ARMA. So I guess CPU power is really more important than GPU.
Thanks for any thoughts!
