So finally i will start to repair my G940 throttle and do the cable fix.

I'm no more able to boost and drive backwards in elite. After month of recurring failures of the buttons and rotarys i started yesterday and disassembeled the throttle. First shock: Broken cables! I have to build a completely new wiring harness.

I found a good youtube instruction in russian.

I will post pictures later.

Disassembling:

The wiring harness in the middle (secured with the srew) is the problem. To mutch tension on the cables makes the failures of the buttons. The cable is laid to tight ex factory.

So i decided to cut the wiring harness and extending it by soldering.

After that i discovered a broken cable. So i decided to make a completely new and longer wiring harness. Therefor i had to disassemble the whole grip.

Wonderful work.

Better archived in hardware forum? But don't have time to moderate, on the way to work...

Today i finished it!

Old wiring harness above and new below. New connectors and cable (with bigger size). Overall lenght plus 3cm.

Enough room for the throttle movement without pulling the cable.

And everything works perfect!! I'm back!!!

Nicely done!

Now can you figure out how to roll back the firmware to the original version?
That's my problem...
I made the mistake of upgrading the firmware on my G940 and now I'm stuck with this, hysteresis axis reporting system, that's wrecked the accuracy of the stick. The filter makes fine adjustments nearly impossible without over correcting. Seems Logitech isn't interested in making a tool to undo this half-baked fix of theirs.... The spiking pots were much less annoying than what I've got now because they didn't affect the X,Y axis's. (which are hall sensors I believe) and since I use a different throttle and rudder now, I don't care about the spiking and just want the old stick behavior back.

Shouldn't take you more than a couple of hours to figure out a fix, right? So...I'll be expecting it by the end of the day. Thanks in advance.

How far i know there is no way to turn the firmware back, but also no reason!

I'm happy with the latest firmware. I don't understand the problem.

The reversal bug oft the x and y axes of the stick is gone. That was the greatest benefit. I'm talking about the version 1.42! Check your settings of the stick in the gaming software. I had other settings afte the last firmware and had to change some settings. Then it was great.

For me the badest thing of the G940 are the pedals. In the future i will change them with MFG crosswind pedals. And if the throttle dies i will buy an single thrustmaster dual throttle. But i will never stop with that stick!!!
