A tech question, Windows update has been showing an optional update for a while, "nVidia - Graphics Adapter WDDM1.1, Graphics Adapter WDDM1.2, Other hardware - NVIDIA GeForce GTX 580."

I have not installed it. I do have a 580 but feel that my drivers are working well and don't want to mess with them. Any reason to install it?

Thanks

I think it's mainly for win 8.

I'm running a GTX 570, and in a moment of weakness, I applied the update.

I have seen no effect at all in my RoF (or anything else for that matter).

Nvidia WHQL driver releases eventually get onto win update. Best to hide the update and stick with WHQL releases direct from nvidia. I once had win update replace a newer WHQL version with the previous version (i.e. the newer one hadn't made it onto win update) on until I caught on what it was doing.

Personally I'm still using 301.42 as they work best for my setup.
