Syndicate IL2 Coop Server on Sundays

Postby SYN_Vander » Sun Feb 10, 2019 11:15 am

I have managed to put together a coop mission generator that can create missions based on a template which will randomly :
-choose a date/time (now on chronological order from sep 1942 until nov 1942)
-Front lines will change based on date (historically correct)
-Season will change based on date
-chooses weather
-chooses objective type (limited by weather, ie no high level bombing with overcast)
-chooses objective location
-generates waypoint markers for map
-chooses player planes
-chooses patrol planes
-chooses patrol locations
-chooses ambient transports
-chooses ambient smoke
-chooses active flak positions

In short: No mission is alike. Missions can be packed with activity in a small space, or missions may be rather easy. They can be short, they can be long etc.
Players can choose to fly together or on opposite sides. You can even fly alone just to try it out.

See here: https://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/95 ... ent-730124

I will try to run this automatically on Sundays, but will also continue to add more and more variety.

My next goal is to create a simple gui like this so any user can generate a mission:

Nice Vander...

that picture remembered me of Wings! (also from 1990)...which I just found out it was remastered and released over at Steam

I still remember that camera view for ground attacks...

Great idea and a great picture! I still have the box, maps, books etc from the original Red Baron. I think I still have the 3 floppy disk somewhere too

I also still have the manual Mike! It's on my desk now. Incredible how they could cram so much game onto a couple of floppy disks!!!
My first attempt at GUI done! Now to get it working with the mission generator I already created.
