Useful gear for BOS

Postby SYN_Matthias » Wed Aug 07, 2013 2:47 pm

Just wanted to share this cool peice of gear from Saitek. The push/pull system for controlling throttle/mixture/radiator(or prop) is awesome and realistic. In Rise of Flight I use the toggle switches for full independent engine control and bombing. I've only had it a couple of weeks but it's proved to be a great investment.

Can only imagine how useful it will be for BOS as a place to easily hook in controls for bomb bay doors, landing gear, dive brakes, flaps etc. etc. Not to mention should we ever get four engined bombers... :D

So basically that http://www.saitek.com/uk/prod/tpm.htmland this http://www.belkin.com/n52te/index1.html for my left hand allow me to fly without ever touching the keyboard in ROF (other than to text chat) and I'm hoping to be able to do the same in BOS with this setup.

Been looking at the saitek stuff for a while, but I am finding my CH quad throttle with 6 levers and 12 switch positions is holding its own, I could still do with another armoury box of switches though

It will be a very big help while using an oculus rift.

Absolutely - I'm planning on jumping on that band wagon the moment the consumer version is released.

That looks great Matthias !

I have no separate throttle controller since I bought my CH stick, but I was thinking to get one day.

I was thinking about this one, http://www.saitek.com/uk/prod/quad.html

The one you show has more switches that could come handy.

Where did you get yours, for I can't find it on any of the sites I'm to go to purchase this kind of stuff...

Ricky, I've got that quadrant you linked to. I really like it. It dose have 3 less switches, tho, I think the lever action(which has a scale and maybe a larger throw) might be easier to use/find a specific point than a push-pull axis. Just my $.02 which I offer up as food for thought. In truth you most likely can't go wrong either way. Matthias's looks nice and compact.

Thx for your opinion Mugue! The one you have is available in the several sites/shops I know, so I might go for it when some cash is available
