Doesn't the Mustang come free with DCS?

Yes it dose. Although that version, the TF-51, has no guns.

But you can be my decoy, I mean, wing man anytime.

So....Normandy map will be out on Friday 26th!

I am preparing missions for the Co-op campaign and I was wondering how many slots I need to reserve. I will put P-51's and Spitfires in each mission. The P-51 will usually fill in the ground-attack role as the Spit has no bombs in DCS atm. Also, some Fw-190/Bf-109 slots will be there if someone wants to fly them occasionally. We'll start at D-Day+5 by transferring to our new ALG in Normandy.

So we have:

Blackrat: P-51, Spitfire
Vander: P-51, Spitfire
Mugue: P-51, Spitfire
Wolfie: P-51, Spitfire
Jedders: P-51, Spitfire
Repent: Spitfire
Skydance: P-51, Spitfire
Spud: P-51, Spitfire
DerHesse: P-51, Spitfire
Lt Dan: P-51, Spitfire
Kara: P-51, Spitfire

Anyone missing?

I think I'll create 3 flights of 4 planes. Sometimes 2 flights of Mustangs (ground attack) and sometimes 2 flights of Spits.

P51 here as a preference too, with rockets, none of those hard to drop bombs

As you know, we never were a disciplined outfit so feel free to change your loadout on the ramp as long as you can achieve the mission objective. .

Tomorrow, if everything goes as planned, we'll have the Normandy map for DCS. I will start creating missions for our campaign and hope to have one or two missions ready by Sunday, so we can start flying!

Date: Sunday, May 28th
Time: 7pm UCT. That's 9pm in continental Europe and 8pm in the UK.
Mission duration: Probably an hour or so.

Mission type: Co-op
There will be 12 Allied planes (8x P-51 and 4x Spitfire) available and 8 German planes (4x Bf-109K and 4x Fw-190D-9).
The missions are written from Allied perspective; German plane slots are bonus :)
You can pick a slot/plane after the mission started. You can also take a plane again after you have been killed ( No dead=dead).

Note:
There will be additional AI flights we can summon in case numbers are low.

Difficulty:
-The map (F10) is enabled, but you can only see your own plane. You can also use the map to add markers while in the game.
-Icons will be turned on. I recommend you use a Label mod (See Wolfie's post) or turn off the icons by yourself. Unfortunately, I can't control label behaviour server side (I think).
-With the new DCS version you will be able to change loadouts, fuel and skins while on the ramp!

Tips:
-Set up a button for " Microphone On". The default key "\" doesn't work with these WW2 birds for some reason. The radio is useful for getting a heading to your home base and also for listening to some 1944 music :)
-Use your TrackIR Z-axis for zoom. This is great for gunnery, specially when attacking ground targets. Controls->Axis Assign->Zoom View (all the way at the bottom) double click in the TrackIR column -> Key/button choose: TrackIR_Z. To tune the default zoom level: Controls->Axis Assign->Click on TRACKIR_Z->Axis Tune->Select "Slider","User Curve" and change the curve; usually increase the middle value (from 50-60 or so) and smoothen the curve.

Please come prepared so make sure you have all your controls set-up in advance!!!

Please respond if you think you'll join
