I tried some of the models Wolfie. The ground stuff (Tiger tanks etc) can be used, but we'll get that with the Normandy "asset" pack anyway.
The He-111 looks nice, but I think the 3d models are not optimised (low FPS) and even worse, the FM is completely off. I can't catch it with my Spitfire in a power climb!!!
There is also a C-47/DC-3 that looks okay and has an appropriate FM. We could definitely use that in our WW2 campaign.
Good news: modding is well supported in DCS; it has it's own mod folder so mod management is simple. If we use JSGME even more so.

Since ED is notorious for it's slow development I think we'll need the mods if we want to make our missions more attractive! I hope someone makes an AI Ju-88 or V-1's for more variation in our mission objectives.

Collecting some interesting mods in this thread (that are not included in the upcoming assets pack):

Fletcher class Destroyer: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/ ... s/1240056/
WW2 mod compilation including German Uboat Type VII (and other): https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=134095 or http://www.checksix-forums.com/viewtopic.php?t=195655 (not sure if it's the same)
DC-3: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/ ... id=6375068
FLAK mod: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=125774

I will probably make our own compilation for our campaign to keep it simple for everyone.

I readed that the Map will be avaliable for closed alpha (those that backed the kickstarter) end of May. No date that I know for the open alpha release. I might be wrong of course.
