No no. you'll get the hang of it quickly, you don't need to use manual sails right away, espcially for the small ships. You have to work your way up to the big boys.

Does it handycap you in some way when you use auto sail? I think it would be pretty cool to learn the whole logic behind sailing such a large ship.

I still didn't receive my key..on the other hand..I didn't have time to try it out either.

No handicap really, it hasn't slowed down any of our progression up the ladder of ship types. You simply turn a bit slower when you need to, but that doesn't have as much meaning say as in an aerial dogfight.

Just put 'manual sail' a little later on the learning curve is all... AND have fun...

On todays local newspaper...http://www.laprovincia.es/las-palmas/20 ... 72809.html

As it is in Spanish I will do a lil resume: French authorities are in negotation with Las Palmas port authorities so a replica of the French frigate L´Harmonie (1796), which captain was the famous Capt. LaFayette, can dock in here during its recreation of the travel the original did to the Americas (it didnt actually stop in Las Palmas back then so I dont know why its coming  ). the ship seems to had been destroyed and burned to avoid capture by the British in 1797 near Puerto Rico island.
The only requisition by local authorities is that the frigate will be open to public visit once in the port.
